A neutral silica gel column was used to obtain Intermediate 2-2, HPLC purity.99.1percent, yield 75.9percent;2-Amino-3-iodonaphthalene (S13-3).; To a solution of S13-2 (1.0 g, 4.11 mmol) in 20 mL dry THF under argon at -20°C was added tert-butyl lithium (1.5 M solution in pentane, 6.9 mL, 10.27 mmol) dropwise and was stirred for 2 h at -20 °C.
