3-Amino-5-ethoxypyridine Use and Manufacturing

A mixture of 3-bromo-5-ethoxypyridine (4.58 g), copper (II) sulphate hydrate (1.02 g) and aqueous ammonium hydroxide (30%; 36 ml) was placed in a pressure vessel that was sealed and heated to 140C for 16 hours. The mixture was cooled to ambient temperature and IN aqueous sodium hydroxide (5 ml) was added. The resultant mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phase was dried over magnesium sulphate and evaporated. There was thus obtained
