Step 2: S-bromoquinoline-S-carboxylic acidA solution (0.1 M) of 5-bromo-8-methylquinoline (from Step 1) in H2SOzrH2O (3:2) was treated with Cr'3 (10 eq.) at 900C. The reaction mixture was heated at 900C for 2 h.
