6-BROMOIMIDAZO[1,2-A]PYRIDINE-2-CARBOXYLIC ACID Use and Manufacturing
To a solution of ethyl 6-bromoimidazo[l, 2-a]pyridine-2-carboxylate (200 mg, 0.74 mmol) THF (2 mL) and methanol (2 mL) was added LiOH (42 mg 0.98 mmol) in water (2 mL) and stirred at 60 °C overnight. After removal of volatile solvent by rotary evaporation, the mixture was diluted with water and acidified to pH 4 with an aqueous solution of IN HC1. The resulting precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with water, and dried under vacuum to afford the title compound (0.125 g, 70percent).
