It can be added and eliminated by 3β-hydroxyprogesterone 5, 16-dien-20-one-3-acetate (ie pregnancy dienolone acetate) via (16-position double bond with methylnitrosourea) (Introduction of 16-methyl), (16-position double bond) epoxidation, (3-position hydroxyl) acetylation, (epoxy) ring opening, generation of 3β, 17α-dihydroxy-16β-methylprogesterone -5, 15-dien-20-one-3-acetate, then (15-position double bond) catalytic hydrogenation, hydrolysis (deacetylation of 3-position), oxidation (formation of 3-position keto, 4, 5 -Double bond in the position), (21-position) iodination, (iodine atom is replaced by acetoxy), biooxidation (generation of 11α-hydroxyl), (11α-hydroxyl) sulfonylation and elimination (generation of 9, 11-double Bond), dehydrogenation (generating the 1-position double bond), 9(11)-position double bond hypobromous acid addition to obtain the product.

Uses

9-Bromo-11β,17,21-trihydroxy-16α-methyl-pregna-1,4-diene-3,20-dione 21-Acetate is an intermediate used in the preparation of 9α-bromo-11β-hydroxy-substituted steroids and 6-hydroxycorticosteroids.
