2-Bromo-5-thiazolecarboxylic acid Use and Manufacturing

A solution of NaOH (4.1 g, 102 mmol) in HStep 1: Preparation of intermediate-1b; A solution of sodium hydroxide in water (1N, 150 mL) was added to ester (1a) (25 g, 106 mmol). The reaction mass was stirred at 23° C. for 1.5 h. The reaction mass was washed with diethyl ether. The aqueous phase was acidified with 2N HCl upto pH 2. The solid precipitated out was filtered and dried under vacuum to afford intermediate carboxylic acid (1b) (19 g, 86percent).
