4-(Bromomethyl)-2,6-dichloropyridine Use and Manufacturing
To a solution of (2, 6-dichloropyridin-4-yl)methanol [0794] in tetrahydrofuran was added triphenylphosphine and N-bromosuccinimide at 0° C. and the reaction mixture was stirred at same temperature. After 2 h, the reaction mixture was diluted with water and extracted with ethyl acetate (3×150 mL). The combined organic layer was washed with brine (2×100 mL), dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated to afford a crude product which was purified by column chromatography to afford 1.1 g of 4-(bromomethyl)-2, 6-dichloropyridine [0795] as colorless liquid. MS(M+1)+=241.8.
