The preparation method is to slowly add sulfuryl chloride to the chloroform solution of ethyl 1-methyl-3-ethyl-4-chloro-5-picolinate at 0°C, and then continue to stir at 50°C for 1h after dropping to obtain product.

Uses

4-Chloro-3-ethyl-1-methylpyrazole-5-carboxylic acid ethyl ester is an intermediate of the acaricide pyridoxamine.
