The supernatant and washings werecombined, reduced in volume to 5 mL using a rotary evaporatorand cooled to 0 °C for 24 h to give more red crystals that were combinedwith the first crop and washed with diethyl ether (3 5 mL).If required, the product may be recrystallized by dissolving it in aminimumvolume ofCH2Cl2, filtering if necessary, and slowly addingtwice that volume of hexane.
