ethylalpha-bromodiethylacetate Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Add 0.1 mmol of primary amine compound, 0.2 mmol of ethyl 2-bromodimethylpropionate, 0.1 mmol of dimethyl butynedioate, and 0.2 mol of potassium acetate, and add 0.5 mL of methyl tert-butyl ether. In a reactor at 120 C, after reacting for 24 hours, cool to room temperature, then filter the solid impurities through diatomaceous earth, wash with dichloromethane 3 times to obtain the filtrate, then concentrate the filtrate, and then go through column chromatography or Purification by layer chromatography gave 14.9 mg of the target product in a yield of 45%.

Uses

An α-bromo tertiary ester used as a reagent in in organic synthesis.
