The effect of other drugs on this product Interactions with hormonal contraceptives and other drugs can lead to bleeding and/or contraceptive failure. No specific interaction studies have been conducted on this product. The interactions reported in the literature are as follows (mainly interactions with combined contraceptives, and sometimes interactions with progestin-only contraceptives): Liver metabolism: Drugs that induce liver enzymes, especially cytochrome P450 enzymes, may interact with this product, resulting in increased clearance of sex hormones (such as phenytoin, phenobarbital, primidone, bosentan, carbamazepine, rifampicin, and possibly oxcarbazepine, topiramate, felbamate, griseofulvin and the herb St. John's wort). HIV protease (e.g., ritonavir, nelfinavir), non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (e.g., nevirapine, efavirenz), and their combinations have been reported to affect liver metabolism. Women taking any of the above drugs should use non-hormonal contraceptive methods in addition to using this product. When using liver enzyme inducing drugs, other non-hormonal contraceptive methods should be taken at the same time and continued until 28 days after stopping the drug. For women who take liver enzyme inducing drugs for a long time, it is recommended to remove this product and use other non-hormonal contraceptive methods. Co-administration of drugs that increase plasma hormones: drugs that inhibit liver enzymes (such as CYP3A4) (such as ketoconazole) may increase plasma hormone levels. 2. Effects of this product on other drugs Hormonal contraception can affect the metabolism of other drugs, and the plasma and tissue concentrations of the corresponding drugs may increase (such as cyclosporine) or decrease (such as lamotrigine). Note: The prescription information of co-administered drugs should be referred to to identify potential interactions. 3. Effects on laboratory test results Data obtained from combined oral contraceptives indicate that contraceptive steroids may affect certain laboratory test results, including biochemical parameters of liver, thyroid, adrenal and kidney function, serum protein (carrier) levels such as corticosteroid binding globulin and lipid/lipoprotein fragments, carbohydrate metabolism parameters and coagulation parameters and fibrinolysis parameters. Changes in these parameters are usually within the normal range. This effect is unknown when using progestin-only contraception.
