Description
Furosemide (Item No. 26298) is an analytical reference standard categorized as a diuretic. Formulations containing diuretics, including furosemide, have been misused in sports for weight reduction and as masking agents in humans and to prevent exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage in racehorses. This product is intended for use in analytical forensic applications. This product is also available as a general research tool .
white to light yellow crystal powde
Furosemide (trade name: Lasix ONYU) is a loop diuretic developed by SQ Innovation, Inc., and was first approved by the FDA on October 8, 2025, for the treatment of edema in heart failure. Furosemide is a widely used loop diuretic, initially approved for marketing in tablet form in 1966. It was subsequently approved for marketing in injectable form (10 mg/mL) and oral solution, and generic versions of all dosage forms are widely available.
A benzoic-sulfonamide-furan. It is a diuretic with fast onset and short duration and anti-hypertensive agent.
Odorless white to slightly yellow crystalline powder. A diuretic drug. Almost tasteless.

Furosemide Use and Manufacturing
The diuretic effect of this product is a strong and short,it is a potent diuretic for the treatment of edema caused by heart, liver, kidney and other diseases, in particular, the base cases which other diuretics are invalid to;it can be used to treat acute pulmonary edema, brain edema , acute renal failure and high blood pressure and other diseases; in combination with fluid infusion, the product can promote poison excretion. Rat oral LD50 is 2600-2820mg/kg.
An inhibitor of NKCC and a GABAA receptor antagonist.
This compound belongs to the aminobenzenesulfonamides. These are organic compounds containing a benzenesulfonamide moiety with an amine group attached to the benzene ring.
diuretic, antihypertensive
Furosemide inhibits ion co-transport in the kidney. Furosemide is used as a diuretic.
Drug Function and Efficacy
1. Effect on water and electrolyte excretion: It can increase the excretion of water, sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, etc. It mainly inhibits the active reabsorption of NaCl by the thick-walled segment of the renal tubular loop, reduces the osmotic pressure gradient difference of the medullary interstitial fluid, and leads to increased excretion of water, Na+, and Cl-; promotes increased Na+-K+ and Na+-H+ exchange in the distal tubule, which increases the excretion of K+ and H+; inhibits the reabsorption of Ca2+ and Mg2+ by the loop of Henle and increases their excretion. Short-term medication can increase uric acid excretion, and long-term medication can cause hyperuricemia. 2. Effect on hemodynamics: Furosemide can inhibit the activity of prostaglandin degrading enzymes, increase the content of prostaglandin E2, and dilate blood vessels; dilate renal blood vessels, reduce renal vascular resistance, and increase renal blood flow; it does not reduce glomerular filtration rate while promoting diuresis; it can dilate pulmonary capacitance veins, reduce pulmonary capillary permeability, reduce the amount of blood returning to the heart, and reduce left ventricular end-diastolic pressure, which is helpful in the treatment of acute left heart failure and adult respiratory distress syndrome.
