Methods of Manufacturing

Under stirring, 30g (0.25mol) mesitylene was added dropwise to 80g (0.69mol) chlorosulfonic acid cooled to 0°C within 0.5h, and stirring was continued for 0.5h. The reaction mixture was poured into crushed ice to obtain 50 g of 2, 4, 6-trimethylbenzenesulfonyl chloride in a yield of 92%.
