Description

4-Hydroxy-3-iodo-5-methoxybenzaldehyde, also known as 5-Iodovanillin, has the molecular formula C₈H₇IO₃ and a molecular weight of 278.04 g/mol. It appears as a light yellow, fine crystalline powder with a melting point of 183–185 °C and a boiling point of 304 °C. The compound has a density of 1.909 g/cm³ and a flash point of 138 °C.
