Description

1-Chloro-1-ethoxyethane is a colorless, transparent liquid with a characteristic ether-like odor. Its molecular weight is 108.57, its boiling point is about 90-95°C, its density is about 0.97 g/cm³, it is easily soluble in organic solvents (such as ethanol, ether), slightly soluble in water, and may slowly hydrolyze in water to produce ethanol and ethyl chloride. It may decompose at high temperatures to release hydrogen chloride.
