Manganic acid (H2MnO4), barium salt (1:1) is an insoluble compound with a deep blue color. Because of this, it was often used as a blue pigment in the past, usually mixed with barium sulfate to lighten the color, called manganese blue. It is no longer used today, replaced by pigments with a manganese blue hue.
