Aluminum zirconium oxide (Al2Zr3O9)

Aluminum zirconium oxide (Al2Zr3O9) structure

Aluminum zirconium oxide (Al2Zr3O9)

structure

Description

high fracture toughened ceramic material at room temp due to a dispersion of tetr ZrO2particles in an alumina matrix; can be prepared by plasma synthesis from the vapor phase by injecting mixtures of AlCl3 and ZrCl4 vapor in an argon–oxygen plasma, resulting in powder(s) consisting of a mixture of δ-Al2O3 and tetr ZrO2; reacted product, -100 mesh; 99% purity; reaction sintering with mullite in [DES91]; other references [CER91] [KOH88], wear coating [GEI92]

Aluminum zirconium oxide (Al2Zr3O9) Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

The dry pulp method is used to form a blank of α-alumina, yttrium trioxide, micronized zirconia and thickener, which is spun into a long fiber with a diameter of 20μm, which is stabilized and burned at a temperature of 1000~2000℃. The product is made. The organic method polymerizes zirconium-aluminum (zr-A1) organometallic compounds and spins them into filaments, and then splits the spun filaments at 800 to 1800°C for 2 h to obtain fibers with a diameter of 10 μm.

Uses

Used for cold wear-resistant tools and cutting tools.
