2′-Benzoylacetanilide Use and Manufacturing
Derived from the reaction of ethyl benzoyl acetate and aniline. The ethyl benzoylacetate and anhydrous xylene are heated to 150°C together, and aniline is added dropwise under stirring. While reacting, the generated ethanol is distilled out. The reaction ends when no more ethanol is distilled out. The reactant is crystallized in petroleum ether, filtered, washed, and recrystallized with benzene to obtain the product. The yield is about 75%.
