Description
Fluorene is a rigid coplanar polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, an organic compound with the chemical formula C13H10. The white crystalline form of fluorene has purple fluorescence, which is also the origin of the English name Fluorene. It is a white crystalline powder, insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, benzene, carbon disulfide, etc. As a monomer, fluorene has a high delocalization and can improve the solubility of polymers.

Fluorene Use and Manufacturing
Fluorene is often used as a precursor to synthesize other fluorene-based compounds and is a raw material for synthesizing medicines, pesticides, dyes, and engineering plastics. Fluorene can be used as a chemical intermediate for the synthesis of polymer free radicals for resins, and is also used to prepare resin products and dyes. It can also be used as a wetting agent, detergent, liquid flash, disinfectant, etc.
