1,5-Dimethyl-2-pyrrolidone Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

In the autoclave, 194g pentan-4-keto acid, 500ml 35% methylamine and 10g skeleton nickel are added. Airtight, pass hydrogen to 7-14MPa. Stir and heat to 140°C for 5h. After the reaction is completed, cool, take out the reactant, and filter the catalyst. The filtrate is distilled to collect the fraction at 84-86°C (1.73kPa) to obtain 1,5-dimethyl-2-pyrrolidone. The yield is 74-77%.
