d-, l- or dl-Limonene has a pleasant, lemon-like odor free from camphoraceous and turpentine-like notes. Limoneneis the most important and widespread terpene; it is known in the d- and l- optically active forms and in the optically inactive dl-form(known as dipentene). colourless liquid
Limonene is a colorless liquid hydrocarbon classified as a cyclic terpene. The more common d-isomer possesses a strong smell of oranges. It is used in chemical synthesis as a precursor to carvone and as a renewables-based solvent in cleaning products.

(+)-Limonene Use and Manufacturing
The first product is fractionated from natural essential oils (such as orange oil) containing d-coene. Add metal sodium and re-steam once, this is crude. After bromination into tetrabromoconoene, it is reduced in ethanol liquid containing zinc powder to obtain pure product.
GB 2760-1996 stipulates the allowed use of edible spices. It is mainly used to prepare flavors of lemon, citrus and spice.
