Methods of Manufacturing

Sodium azide was dissolved in hot water, ethanol was added, and benzenesulfonyl chloride was added dropwise under cooling and stirring. The mixture turned from orange to red. After stirring for 30 minutes under cooling, it was stirred for 30 minutes at room temperature, and the red color of the mixture disappeared. The oily substance in the lower part of standing and fractioning is benzenesulfonyl azide.
