Drug Function and Efficacy

Recombinant streptokinase combines with plasminogen in a 1:1 molar ratio to form a complex, which then activates plasminogen into plasmin. Plasmin catalyzes the hydrolysis of fibrin, the main matrix of thrombus, thereby dissolving the thrombus and reopening the blood vessels. At the same time, the thrombolytic effect of recombinant streptokinase is enhanced by the presence of fibrin. Therefore, recombinant streptokinase can effectively and specifically dissolve thrombus or blood clots, and can treat diseases with thrombosis as the main pathological change.
