Polytetrafluoroethylene Use and Manufacturing
Polytetrafluoroethylene has been used in many production and domestic applications, where acid, base and organic solvent resistance are required, and is used to make non-stick POTS and dry transformers. Polytetrafluoroethylene has a soft texture and is therefore often used as a coating. When it was first developed, its main use area was the high-temperature inner wall coating of launch rockets. Polytetrafluoroethylene is also the main component of the raw material belt. It is used as insulation layer of power supply and signal line in aerospace, aviation, electronics, instruments, computers and other industries, and can make films, tube plate rods, bearings, washers, valves, chemical pipes, pipe fittings, equipment container lining, etc. Polytetrafluoroethylene has replaced quartz glassware for ultra-pure chemical analysis and storage of acids, bases, and organic solvents in industries such as atomic energy, medicine, and semiconductors. It can be made into high insulation electrical parts, high frequency wire and cable sheath, corrosion resistant chemical utensils, high cold oil pipelines, artificial organs and so on. Can be used as plastics, rubber, paint, ink, lubricating oil, grease and other additives. High temperature and corrosion resistance, Polytetrafluoroethylene has excellent electrical insulation, aging resistance, low water absorption, and excellent self-lubricating properties. Polytetrafluoroethylene is a versatile lubricating powder suitable for various media. It can be quickly applied to form a dry film and used as a substitute for graphite, molybdenum, and other inorganic lubricants. Release agent for thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers with excellent load bearing capacity. It is widely used in elastomer and rubber industry as well as anti-corrosion. Polytetrafluoroethylene is used as a filler for epoxy resins to improve the wear resistance, heat resistance and corrosion resistance of epoxy adhesives. Polytetrafluoroethylene is mainly used as a binder and filler for powder powders. Some Polytetrafluoroethylene is also used in military technology weapons. For example, the gun assembly inside the US M4A1 carbine cartridge is plated with a layer of polytetrafluoroethylene to enhance the life of the weapon.
