Ethylcellulose Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

The wood pulp or kapok is processed by alkali, and then ethylated by alkaline cellulose and ethyl chloride. Cellulose and ethanol are combined in the presence of a dehydrating agent.

Uses

In the manufacture of plastics and lacquers.Pharmaceutic aid (tablet binder).

Drug Function and Efficacy

This product can inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins and has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects. It is a sustained-release dosage form that allows the drug to be gradually released in the body. Each dose can provide continuous pain relief for 12 hours.

Ingredients	Each tablet of this product contains 0.3 grams of ibuprofen, the main ingredient, and excipients are lactose, starch, ethyl cellulose, and 95% ethanol.
Indication	When this product is used together with other antipyretic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs, it may increase gastrointestinal adverse reactions and may cause ulcers. When this product is used together with anticoagulants such as heparin and dicoumarol, it may lead to prolonged prothrombin time and increased bleeding tendency. See the instructions for details.
