3-Hydroxy-2-nitrobenzoicacid Use and Manufacturing
3-chloro-2-nitrobenzoic acid (30 g, 0.15 mol) and KOH (120 g, 2.14mol) were dissolved in water (150 mL). The mixture was heated at reflux for 12 h. TLC (petroleum ether: ethyl acetate = 1 :1) showed the reaction was complete. The pH of mixture was adjusted to 3. The resulting mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate (2 x 300 mL). The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over NaStep 1: 3-Hydroxy-2-nitrobenzoic acid3-chloro-2-nitrobenzoic acid (30 g, 0.148 mol) was dissolved in aqueous potassium hydroxide solution (240 g, 4.277 mol, in 300 mL HIntermediate A-15A: 3-Hydroxy-2-nitrobenzoic acid
