2,3-Dimethyl-2-butene Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Tetramethylethylene is obtained by the dimerization of propylene. Put propylene into the dimerization kettle, add homogeneous catalyst, and carry out catalytic polymerization under stirring. When the pressure in the kettle drops below 0.01MPa, the material will stop reacting. , The oil layer is roughly steamed to remove the products of trimerization and tetramerization, namely C9~C19. For olefins, the fractions at 53~75℃ are collected as crude products, which are mainly 2, 3-dimethylbutene-1, which is then catalytically isomerized. The reaction temperature is controlled at 85~90℃, so that the product is converted into 2 , 3-Dimethylbutene-2, namely tetramethylbutene-2, and then rectify to collect the 71~74℃ fraction, which is the finished product 2, 3-dimethylbutene-2, and the rest is Other by-products are C6 olefins. In the dimerization reaction, the single-pass conversion rate of propylene is >90%, the dimerization selectivity is 80%, and the isomerization conversion rate is 79%.
