Methods of Manufacturing

Add 2-nitroso-1-naphthol to water, add 70% nitric acid with stirring, react for 1h, and filter. The filter cake is dissolved in dilute lye, filtered, and the filtrate is acidified with acetic acid to precipitate 2-nitro-1-naphthol solid.
