Move containers from fire area if you can do it without risk. Dike fire-control water for later disposal; do not scatter the material. FIRE INVOLVING TANKS OR CAR/TRAILER LOADS: Fight fire from maximum distance or use unmanned hose holders or monitor nozzles. Do not get water inside containers. Cool containers with flooding quantities of water until well after fire is out. Withdraw immediately in case of rising sound from venting safety devices or discoloration of tank. Drug Information
Inhalation causes irritation of nose and throat; effects are quite similar to those of phosgene. Ingestion causes irritation of mouth and stomach. Delayed, painful eye irritation may occur from exposure to vapor; liquid causes severe irritation. Contact with skin causes irritation and burns. (USCG, 1999)
Get medical attention after all exposures to this compound. INHALATION: remove victim to fresh air; alert physician to delayed effects similar to those of phosgene. INGESTION: give large amount of water and induce vomiting. EYES: flush with water for at least 15 min. SKIN: flush with water. (USCG, 1999)
