Cobalt acetate tetrahydrate Use and Manufacturing
Cobalt metal or cobalt oxide is used as the raw material to react with nitric acid to prepare cobalt nitrate solution, and then react with ammonium bicarbonate (or soda ash) solution to generate cobalt carbonate precipitate; wash and separate the precipitate, and add acetic acid to acidify it to obtain cobalt acetate; After filtration, the reaction liquid was adjusted to pH=2, concentrated to a relative density of the solution of 1.17-1.20, and then added 1kg of acetic acid per 200L of concentrated liquid, and crystallized for 7-10 days under the condition of less than 20 ℃, centrifuged, Dry at 30-40℃ to get the finished product. The content of industrial grade cobaltous acetate is not less than 45%. Raw material consumption quota: metal cobalt (>99%) 265kg/t, acetic acid 1000kg/t, nitric acid 1100kg/t.
Cobalt(II) acetate tetrahydrate is used to prepare complexes for examination of the properties of metals with unusual coordination geometries. used as a catalyst for oxidation and esterification. used as an industrial catalyst to harden paints and varnishes, an active catalyst for oxidation and esterification reactions.
