A mixture of monomeric and linear dimeric acetone peroxides (mainly 2,2-hydroxyperoxypropane), with minor proportions of higher polymers, usually mixed with an edible carrier such as cornstarch. The cornstarch mixture is a fine, white, freeflowing powder having a sharp acrid odor similar to that of hydrogen peroxide when the container is first opened.
