Ethyl phosphorodichloridate Use and Manufacturing
O-Ethyl phosphoryl dichloride is prepared by directly reacting phosphorus oxychloride with absolute ethanol. Under the conditions of stirring and cooling, add absolute ethanol dropwise to equimolar phosphorus oxychloride, control the dropping temperature at about 40°C, continue the reaction for 4h after dropping, and extract the hydrochloric acid gas while stirring. The yield of the obtained product is about 90%, and the content is above 91%. Due to the strong activity of the reaction product, it is prone to hydrolysis or alcoholysis reaction with water or alcohol at room temperature to generate corresponding by-products. If the HCl produced by the reaction is not discharged in time, side reactions will occur if it is in contact with the raw material ethanol for a long time. Secondary C2H5OH+HCl→C2H5Cl+H2O In order to reduce the occurrence of these side reactions, the following measures are often taken in the process: ①The raw materials and reaction system used must be anhydrous, and the reaction is required to be under low temperature (below 0°C) and low pressure conditions Proceed; ②Phosphorus oxychloride is generally 30% to 150% in excess, and sometimes a certain amount of xylene is added as a diluent, which not only facilitates the diffusion of heat, but also prevents the formation of diesters, triesters and other by-products; ③ Under vacuum conditions (generally at 2.66kPa), desolventize and recover excess phosphorus oxychloride.
O-ethylphosphoryl dichloride is used in pesticides for the preparation of nematicidal mefenphos, phenfenphos, and the fungicide dimephos.
