5H-Pyrido[3,2-b]indole Use and Manufacturing

General procedure: A mixture of 7 (400 mg), CF3COOH (8 mL), Pd(OAc)2 (300 mg, 1.34 mmol) was refluxed for 6 h at 72 C, and allowed to cool to rt. Thereafter, it was poured into ice cold H2O (15 mL), neutralized with aqueous NH3, extracted with EtOAc (3 × 50 mL), washed with brine and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was removed under reduce pressure and the crude product was purified by column chromatography (hexane:EtOAc 2:3).
