Methods of Manufacturing

The preparation method is to put water and HCl into the reactor, cool, and then add a metered amount of 2, 6-dimethylaniline, cool to below -5°C, start dripping NaNO2 aqueous solution, control the dripping temperature, and reach the end of the dripping When pH<3, then continue the reaction for 10 minutes, add anhydrous Na2SO3, stir well, slowly warm up to (95±2)°C and react for 2.5h, cool to room temperature and add HCl, warm up to 70°C, then cool and filter to obtain 2 , 6-Dimethylphenylhydrazine hydrochloride.

Uses

2,6-Dimethylphenylhydrazine is an intermediate of the fungicide xaxyl.
