It is condensed with hydrazine and benzaldehyde to form benzaldiazide, which is then reacted with dimethyl sulfate under reflux in benzene to obtain the product.

Uses

A substituted hydrazine used in the preparation of pyrazole-3-carboxamide derivatives as 5-HT2B receptor antagonists.
