Sirius red F3B is an organic sodium salt resulting from the formal condensation of Sirius red F3B (acid form) with six equivalents of sodium hydroxide. A polyazo dye used principally in staining methods for collagen and amyloid. It has a role as a fluorochrome and a histological dye. It contains a Sirius red F3B(6-).

Direct Red 80 Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Using p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid, o-aminobenzenesulfonic acid, J acid and phosgene as raw materials, p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid is first diazotized, then coupled with o-aminobenzenesulfonic acid, and then subjected to a second diazotization, and J acid coupling, the product is obtained by condensation with phosgene. After salting out, filtering, drying and crushing, the finished product is obtained. .

Uses

Stain for connective tissue.Dye for cellulose fibers.
