Drug Function and Efficacy

Inhibit uric acid synthesis, prevent hypoxanthine and xanthine from being metabolized into uric acid by inhibiting xanthine oxidase, reduce uric acid production, lower uric acid levels in blood and urine, prevent uric acid crystal deposition, and help redissolve uric acid crystals in the tissues of gout patients.
