Methods of Manufacturing

Using anthraquinone as a raw material, it is sulfonated step by step in the presence of mercury sulfate to simultaneously generate 1, 5-disulfonic acid and 1, 8-disulfonic acid. The resulting sulfonate is diluted with sulfuric acid, and its solubility in sulfuric acid is different. Separation. Operation example Add 270kg of anthraquinone and 630kg of 34% fuming sulfuric acid (containing 2.7kg of metallic mercury) into the sulfonation pot, heat it to 120-125°C and keep it for 4h. After heat preservation, the temperature is lowered to 100°C, and 180kg of 96% sulfuric acid is added. After adding, press the material into the glass-lined pot. Add 360kg of 78% sulfuric acid at 75°C, add it in 1h, cool down to 55°C within 4h, keep for 1h, so that anthraquinone-1, 5-disulfonic acid is completely precipitated. After filtering, the filter cake is washed twice with 240L of 78% sulfuric acid. The filter cake is a finished product of anthraquinone-1, 5-disulfonic acid. The filtrate and washing liquid are combined to produce anthraquinone 1, 8-disulfonic acid. Raw material consumption quota: anthraquinone (98%) 1498kg/t, sulfuric acid (65%) 1206kg/t, oleum (SO320%) 2407kg/t.

Uses

Dye intermediate. Used to produce anthraquinone disperse dyes and acid dyes, such as Disperse Blue 2BLN and acid anthraquinone sky blue.
