Description

ChEBI: A member of the class of benzochromenones that is benzo[g]chromen-4-one carrying two additional hydroxy substituents at positions 5 and 6 as well as methyl and methoxy substituents at positions 2 and 8 respectively. An orange polyketide pigmen that is a common intermediate in many different fungal biosynthetic pathways.


Rubrofusarin is a member of the class of benzochromenones that is benzo[g]chromen-4-one carrying two additional hydroxy substituents at positions 5 and 6 as well as methyl and methoxy substituents at positions 2 and 8 respectively. An orange polyketide pigment that is a common intermediate in many different fungal biosynthetic pathways. It has a role as a fungal metabolite, a biological pigment and an EC 1.14.18.1 (tyrosinase) inhibitor. It is a benzochromenone, a polyketide, an aromatic ether and a member of phenols. It is a conjugate acid of a rubrofusarin(1-).
