Description
Methacycline HCl is a tetracycline antibiotic.Target: Antibacterial Methacycline HCl is a broad-spectrum semisynthetic antibiotic related to tetracycline but excreted more slowly and maintaining effective blood levels for a more extended period.
Methacycline hydrochloride is an organic molecular entity.|Methacycline Hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt form of methacycline, a tetracycline antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial and antiprotozoal activity. Methacycline hydrochloride is bacteriostatic and inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, thereby preventing the addition of amino acids to the growing peptide chain. This tetracycline is active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.|A broad-spectrum semisynthetic antibiotic related to TETRACYCLINE but excreted more slowly and maintaining effective blood levels for a more extended period.
Methacycline is a tetracycline-class antibiotic that is active against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. It is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and reaches a maximum concentration at about the fourth hour, declining to a negligible amount in about 24 hours. It is more active than tetracycline against a number of bacteria.

Metacycline hydrochloride Use and Manufacturing
This product is semi-synthetic oxytetracycline. It is made of oxytetracycline as the raw material and first made into metacycline hydrochloride. The total yield is about 41% based on oxytetracycline.
A broad spectrum, anti bacterial, semisynthetic antibiotic related to Tetracycline
analgesic, narcotic antagonist
Methacycline hydrochloride is a salt prepared from methacycline taking advantage of the basic dimethylamino group which protonates and readily forms a salt in hydrochloric acid solutions. The hydrochloride is the preferred formulation for pharmaceutical applications. Like all tetracyclines, methacycline hydrochloride shows broad spectrum antibacterial and antiprotozoan activity and acts by binding to the 30S and 50S ribosomal subunits, blocking protein synthesis.

Drug Function and Efficacy
This product belongs to the tetracycline antibiotics, and is sensitive to many rickettsia, mycoplasma, chlamydia, some atypical mycobacteria, spirochetes; Actinomycetes, anthrax, Listeria monocytogenes, Clostridium, Nocardia, Vibrio, Brucella, Campylobacter, Yersinia, etc. However, enterococci are resistant, and after years of use, common clinical pathogens are seriously resistant to it, including gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus and most Enterobacteriaceae. There is cross-resistance between this product and different varieties of tetracyclines.
