Potassium perfluorohexanesulfonate Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Potassium perfluorohexylsulfonate and tetra-n-butylphosphonium bromide in a molar ratio of 1:1 were dissolved in acetone, and reacted at room temperature for24 hours. After the reaction was completed, the solid precipitate was removed by filtration and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phase was washed threetimeswith an equal volume of water and thesolvent was evaporated to give the final product (A), which is represented by the simple C6F13SO3P4444.

Uses

Tridecafluorohexanesulfonic Acid is a perfluorinated compound that has been identified to be a p-glycoprotein (p-gp) inhibitor and therefore, a chemosensitizer. Tridecafluorohexanesulfonic Acidis part of a new class of global environmental pollutant; they bioaccumulate and are persistent in the environment and wildlife.
