Description

Ergoline is an indole alkaloid whose structural skeleton is found in many naturally occurring and synthetic ergolines which are known to bind to neurotransmitter receptors, such as dopamine, noradrenaline and serotonin receptors and function as unselective agonists or antagonists at these receptors. It is an ergoline alkaloid, a diamine, an organic heterotetracyclic compound, an indole alkaloid fundamental parent and an indole alkaloid.|A series of structurally-related alkaloids that contain the ergoline backbone structure.
