To succinic acid (3 0 g, 25 42 mmol, 1 OO equiv) m THF (50 mL) was added a solution of 1- hydroxypyrrohdine-2, 5-dione (64 g, 55 65 mmol, 2 20 eqmv) This was followed by the addition of a solution of DCC (11 5 g, 55 83 mmol, 2 20 equiv) in THF (50 mL) dropwise with stirring at OCompound 44 (75 mg, 21 pmol) in solution in water (2.1 mL) is added dropwise under vigorous stirring to a solution containing A solution of compound 43 (80 mg, 22.4 muetaetaomicron) in water (3.4 mL) was added dropwise under vigorous stirring to a solution of disuccinimtdyl succinate ( 140 mg, 0.45 mmol) and N, N- diisopropylethylamine (86 pL, 0.49 mmol) in DMF (3.4 mL). After stirring at rt for 1 h, the mixture was purified by size exclusion chromatography on Sephadex G25 (0.2 M NaCI) and then Sephadex G25 (water) to give 74 mg (88% yield) of target compound 45 as a white solid. CE (method 8a): MT = 7.24 min
