To 2-chloro-5-fluoro-phenol (959 mg, 6.54 mmol) in DMF (15 mL) at 0°C was added 60percent NaH (496 mg, 12.4 mmol) portionwise. After H2 bubbling stopped, iodomethane (0.43 mL, 6.91 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture was allowed to warm at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture was slowly poured onto water and crushed ice, basified with saturated aqueous NaHCC and extracted with DCM. The combined organic phase was washed with brine, dried over Na2S0
