Gamma acid Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

In the past, β-naphthylamine was used as raw material to produce γ acid, and J acid was by-produced. However, due to the carcinogenic effects of β-naphthylamine, it is no longer used today. At present, G salt (2-naphthol-6, 8-disulfonic acid dipotassium salt) is used as raw material, and it is obtained by ammoniating, alkali melting, and acidification. Product specifications: HG2-205-80. The appearance is light gray paste, and the content of gamma acid (calculated as the coupling value) is greater than 55%. Raw material consumption quota: G salt (100% discount) 1520kg/t, sulfuric acid (99%) 1850kg/t, caustic soda (100% discount) 1200kg/t, sulfur dioxide (industrial product) 330kg/t, ammonia (99%) 485kg/ t.

Uses

Used as an intermediate for reactive dyes and direct dyes. Used for direct diazo black BH, direct dark brown M, direct date red GB, direct red F, direct gray D, direct N and direct lightfast gray, etc.
