DI-N-HEXYL ADIPATE is an ester. Esters react with acids to liberate heat along with alcohols and acids. Strong oxidizing acids may cause a vigorous reaction that is sufficiently exothermic to ignite the reaction products. Heat is also generated by the interaction of esters with caustic solutions. Flammable hydrogen is generated by mixing esters with alkali metals and hydrides.

EYES: Flush with water for at least 15 min., lifting lids occasionally. SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash with soap and water. (USCG, 1999)

Drug Function and Efficacy

High levels of DHA lead to the production of LR11 which appears to protect against Alzheimer's disease; low levels of LR11 may lead to the formation of amyloid plaques; DHA is most abundant in the brain and is a key substance for fetal and infant brain development; low levels of DHA in the brain are associated with cognitive impairment and may increase oxidative stress in the brains of Alzheimer's patients.
