(3-Bromo-1-propen-1-yl)benzene Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Cinnamyl alcohol is obtained by bromination. Put cinnamyl alcohol, pyridine and gasoline into the dry reaction pot. Phosphorus tribromide was added dropwise with stirring, and the reaction temperature was maintained at about 20°C. After the addition, the temperature is increased to 60-70°C and the temperature is kept for 2 hours. Cool to below 30°C, add an appropriate amount of ice water dropwise, and separate into layers. The gasoline layer was washed once with water and 5% sodium bicarbonate solution respectively, and then washed with water to neutrality, and solvent gasoline and pyridine were removed to obtain cinnamyl bromide. The yield was 95.3%.

Uses

Pharmaceutical intermediates.
