1,2,4-Trimethoxybenzene Use and Manufacturing
Use vanillin to oxidize with hydrogen peroxide, then hydrolyze, and methylate with dimethyl sulfate; or use hydroquinone to oxidize with sodium dichromate and sulfuric acid to generate hydroquinone, the latter with acetic anhydride Acetylation gives 1, 2, 4-benzenetriol triacetate, which is obtained by methylation with dimethyl sulfate.
