Bis(2-nitrophenyl) disulfide Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

It is obtained by sulfurization of o-nitrochlorobenzene. Dissolve sodium sulfide in hot ethanol, add sulfur and continue heating to reflux to make a brown sodium persulfide ethanol solution, slowly add it to the o-nitrochlorophenyl alcohol solution, control the feeding speed to make the reaction proceed violently but prevent the rushing. After the addition, it was refluxed at 80°C for 4h, and yellow crystals precipitated. Cooling and filtering, washing with water, washing with a small amount of ethanol, and drying to obtain bis(o-nitrophenyl) disulfide with a yield of 68%.

Uses

The intermediate of fast-acting antihypertensive drug antihypertensive.
