Cuprous thiocyanate Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Sulfite reduction method reduces copper sulfate with sodium sulfite under alkaline conditions, and then reacts with sodium thiocyanate to produce a white precipitate, which can be obtained by filtration, washing with water and drying. Its 2CuSo4+Na2SO3+2NaOH+2NaSCN→2CuSCN+3Na3SO4+H2O

Uses

In marine antifouling paints; in primer compositions for explosives industry.
